...or the egg?
The Silver Creek eggs: blue, khaki, brown and pink.
Georgie and James just LOVE visiting the chickens and collecting the eggs and these pictures are just for them. I think the chickens miss them, and so does Grandad; he has to collect the eggs and put the food out all by himself.
I am a daughter, wife, mother to 3 adult children, Granma to 3 gorgeous grandkids, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, mother-in-law and best friend. Who I am makes a difference to some of these people more than others, but they all make a difference to me.
I live at Golden Hills in Silver Creek in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range in Australia. The largest nugget of gold in our area, (before my time), was found near our back door. The creek 'down the back' still offers specks of gold, but the tailings don't offer good nutrition to the trees or plants, and with the frost, gardening can be heartbreaking. But it is one of the most beautiful spots our country offers and has 4 real seasons and clean air.
We came here 29 years ago, to grow trout and now we grow Black Worms for the aquarium trade, unique and hard to explain. You could look at blackworms.com.au if you want to know more. This meant our 3 kids have wandered off to study, travel and work. They come home sometimes to visit and bring Miss G, Mr J and Miss T with them to see Granma and Grandad.
I have wonderful friends, and we meet to spin, knit, crochet, sew, shop, chat and do what friends do best, support through good and bad. My friends' craftings feature constantly in my blog as they are wonderfully creative people. I hope you enjoy an insight into their beautiful work and life at Silver Creek.
