Sooty

I loved Laughing Purple Goldfish's 20lb fat cat, Rupert, so I made one also.

His name is Sooty, and he is toooooooo fat to fit through the cat door, he has to wait for the door to be opened for him, and in a very cheeky way he went and sat where Tiger used to sit and terrify the Spinning Group ladies.

I never mind February flying by

This has been an extremely hot, exhausting summer, and now the fires are starting to happen around the outskirts of town, hopefully any more will continue to be controlled as quickly as they have been already.

I never mind February flying by because it's my least favourite month because of the heat and dryness.  The quicker it goes the more we get back to 'woolly' weather.  We started back with our Spinning Group a week later this year because of our visit to Qld, but there was quite a bit of woolly goodness despite the warm weather.

Catching up on summer 2012

My South Bay Shawlette for a friend.  I do miss Tiger and his very conditional love.
These were some of the beautiful woollies given to me by Ravelry friends for our new granddaughter.

And the coconut ice ripple blanket that I made for her.

Catching up with summer colour

We participate in the Biggest Morning Tea, in memory of John, the husband of one of our group members, and a very kind man who was always ready to help us by making bits and pieces.  This was the beautiful crochet blanket that Pam made for the raffle.

I needed to step in when someone was unable to send a surprise swap parcel, and as it was for Maree and had a seaside theme, I made this little pincushion in pink to match the colour in the shell that it sits in.

I love fuschias, and these were some of the flowers on mine, just outside the back door.

Craftings

I made a matroyshka doll for Miss G, from Sharon Maher's pattern

and took it when we visited for her 8th birthday party with the family.

I also made her a monster called Britney

and because M J is ninja crazy, I made him Ninja Spot,

he turned 5, with a 5 elephants cake,

and I made him a Ninja Stripe.

Catching up with Last Summer

 I made a monster for Miss G.

This fibre grew up to be ?

It grew up to be this yarn!
I went to a Ravelry meet up in Sydney.

Catching up with last summer (2012)

Our friend Furry visited from WA and we had lunch on a veeeeery hot day.

We found Kenny in the tree outside the living room (not a eucalypt).

It's a New Year and I've been very inspired by a blogpost (http://tikkifabricaddict.blogspot.com.au/2013/01/a-new-day-new-year.html) It's just what I think happens, that we feel we can forgive ourselves for the projects unfinished last year, and start over all new.  I'm doing this, and I hope you do too.  It can put a spring in your step and lift that weight of guilt off your mind.  There will be time during the year to finish off.....now is the time for new ideas, projects, promises to yourself.  Reinvigorate so the creative juices flow rich in the summer/holidays.

I've also had my technical advisors visit (all of my 3 monkeys), and I have music on my ipod and I think I can put more music on my ipod which was last year's Christmas gift from the other half who has since lost his ipod.  He doesn't have the patience to show me how to do these things.  However I have the patience to keep looking for his ipod, despite it containing James Blunt songs.  As for Other Things that the ipod can do, we can't rush it........if we fill my brain up so full that it overflows it takes everything else with it.  I was born way before the technical era.  But thank you to the youngest techie.  I have also had things sorted for the difficulty I experienced with uploading photos ( I had no difficulty previously as you can see from the earlier blogs) so thank you to the eldest techie.  And our business website has been totally reworked thanks to the middle techie and wonderful DIL.

We had a wonderful Christmas time with all the family home including the grandchildren.  How wonderful that they are cousins, everyone should have cousins.

Fred the dog who lives in Sydney was a big hit with little Miss T.
Little Miss T just had the BEST fun with the wrapping paper.
Granma with Miss 8, Miss 8 months and Mr 5
 The Silver Creek Mob.
I'd like to wish all my family and friends a wonderful summer holiday, and good health and happiness and safe travel for 2013.
