A tribute to veterans

Coming back from a reunion in Melbourne with other 'Balcombe-ites', we called in at Seymour to visit the new Vietnam Veterans memorial wall.  I was impressed with how well it was done, and I would recommend it to anyone who had family serving or supporting in Vietnam.  The trees will probably have grown quite a bit more by now.

Coincidences

Aren't coincidences funny things...I guess that's rhetorical!

I found a little knitted toy bat

and then, just a week later, look who visited (and had to be shown the door)

Feathered friends

Sometimes the wildlife bring such a smile to my face

Progress with The Squares

A batch of squares for my crochet blanket.  I have laid it all out and I need just 3 more to position them and start joining.  Don't hold your breath!

Facebook came along and the rest is history.....

As usual, the road of life offers choices and consequences, and sometimes it's good to get to the roundabout and head back to that spot that is like home, especially if you left things unfinished.  I was in that comfortable spot 5 years ago, when 3 life-changing events in 6 months altered my 'choices', and then a revisit to my blog got sidelined by Facebook and work.  In my defence, I avoided Facebook until it became the tool to enjoy photos of my granddaughter who lives on the other side of the world, and to have glimpses into the school lives of my granddaughter and grandson who live 600km away.

Then......technology impacted and my new computer system changed my photo storage, and finding this part of the computer 'scary' and not wanting to wipe my precious photos I didn't fiddle with it. My son has come to my rescue and restored my old system so that I can access old photos in a much more identifiable way.  So I am back to see if I can catch up here and continue, time (or lack of free time) will tell.......again, as they say.

A Laughing Purple Goldfish pattern called Sizzle made for Tori.  I find crochet toys and my fingers are not super compatible any more.

These are the beautiful...and interesting things that were being worked on at Monday spinning days by our group:

For all the HP fans, this was made by Fran as a hot water bottle cover for her daughter.

Sooty

I loved Laughing Purple Goldfish's 20lb fat cat, Rupert, so I made one also.

His name is Sooty, and he is toooooooo fat to fit through the cat door, he has to wait for the door to be opened for him, and in a very cheeky way he went and sat where Tiger used to sit and terrify the Spinning Group ladies.

I never mind February flying by

This has been an extremely hot, exhausting summer, and now the fires are starting to happen around the outskirts of town, hopefully any more will continue to be controlled as quickly as they have been already.

I never mind February flying by because it's my least favourite month because of the heat and dryness.  The quicker it goes the more we get back to 'woolly' weather.  We started back with our Spinning Group a week later this year because of our visit to Qld, but there was quite a bit of woolly goodness despite the warm weather.
